Why Coach?

At GABA, our volunteer coaches are the heartbeat of our community - bringing energy, encouragement and expert guidance to every practice and game. Whether you’re helping little ones discover their first love of basketball or mentoring seasoned players aiming for higher levels, coaching with us is a rewarding way to give back, build confidence, and create lasting memories on and off the court.

Coach with the GABA

Inspire the next generation - one bounce at a time.

Basketball in Geraldton wouldn’t be what it is without our volunteer coaches.

Whether you’re helping little ones fall in love with the game or guiding older players to develop their skills, coaching is a rewarding way to stay involved and give back to the sport.

At GABA, we’re always looking for people who are passionate about basketball and keen to make a difference. Coaches play a key role in creating a positive environment, building confidence, and encouraging good sportsmanship - both on and off the court.

You don’t need to be an expert to start coaching. If you’ve got a basic understanding of the game, a willingness to learn, and the ability to communicate well with players and families, you’re already on your way.

Whether you’re just starting or looking to take the next step in your coaching journey, we’re here to support you with resources, training, and development.

Keep an eye on our Upcoming Events page and social media channels for info on our upcoming opportunities.
